About the founder
Asad Mahmood is a software engineer with more than ten years of experience and the father of a preschooler in Lahore. He started KidSpin when he couldn't find an app that taught his child Urdu letters, English ABC and the basics of namaz in one place, without ads. He builds and answers for the app himself. Story angles
- Urdu and English in one app. In our October 2026 Google Play searches, KidSpin was the only app that combined the Urdu qaida, English ABC and namaz. Most Urdu qaida apps there carry ads.
- A children's app that collects nothing. No account, no analytics and no ads; Echo deletes each recording after playing it back.
- A sticker means "answered", not "tapped Next". From 1.0.5, children earn a sticker only by answering a short listening check, and learned letters come back for review.
- For families abroad. Pakistani families in the UK, the Gulf and North America use it to keep a child's Urdu going alongside English. Keep your child's Urdu alive
